It is a medium format camera. Its name is due to the fact that it is a metal box with shutter synchronized with an optional flash. It has a simple lens and two viewers, one for shots in vertical format and the other for horizontal format.

It was manufactured in Munich, Germany. However, some were manufactured in France in 1951 and one version was manufactured in India in 1959.

A very particular characteristic of this camera is that it has a support and a flash connection, which was activated automatically when the camera was shot.
